Privacy Policy for the HappyLipo App
Last updated: October 2026
This policy covers the HappyLipo app for iPhone. Our website and blog are available in German only; their privacy policy is at happylipo.de/legal/datenschutz. This English text is a translation of the parts of that policy that apply to the app. If the two differ, the German version applies.
1. Who is responsible
WE 2056 UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Königsbrücker Landstraße 72, 01109 Dresden, Germany
Represented by Elisa Mühlmann
Email: info@2056.digital
App support: support@2056.digital
We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
2. The short version
HappyLipo is a symptom and well-being journal for iPhone. It works without an account and without a server of our own. Your entries, your profile, and your photos are stored only on your device. We have no access to them.
The app contains no ads, no tracking, and no analytics tools. It connects to the internet in only two cases: for weather (section 5) and for purchases (section 6).
3. What you enter in the app
In the app you can record:
- Entries about how you feel, sensations, body areas, and influences, as well as notes and photos
- Profile details: first name, profile photo, date of birth, body measurements
- Your answers from setup and your settings
Some of this is health data within the meaning of Art. 9 GDPR. It stays on your device and is not sent to us or to anyone else. To the extent that this counts as processing by us, it is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a), Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR).
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, the app's data may be part of that backup. This depends on your device settings and Apple's terms.
4. Apple Health
If you allow it, HappyLipo reads data from Apple Health: sleep, heart data (heart rate variability, resting heart rate), activity and workouts, mindfulness, cycle, weight, water, caffeine, alcohol, and state of mind. The app links these values to your entries on your device to show patterns.
If you allow it, HappyLipo also saves the state of mind you log to Apple Health.
Data from Apple Health is processed only on your device. We do not receive it, do not share it, and do not use it for advertising or profiling.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a), Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you give through the iOS permission screen. You can change or withdraw access at any time, for each data type separately: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → HappyLipo.
5. Weather and location
If you allow location access, the app shows the current weather and air pressure for your day. To do this, it requests the weather for your approximate location – coordinates rounded to about one kilometer (0.6 miles) – from WeatherKit, Apple's weather service (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Cork, Ireland). For technical reasons, your IP address is transmitted as well. No other details about you or your entries are sent.
According to Apple, location information is used only to provide weather forecasts, is not associated with any personally identifiable information, and is not tracked between requests. Apple's privacy policy applies.
The weather is saved with your entry on your device. The app does not store your location.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can turn off location access at any time in iOS Settings under HappyLipo → Location. The app then works without weather.
6. HappyLipo Plus: purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are handled by the App Store. Apple is your contracting party for payment, and Apple's privacy policy applies. We do not receive your name, your email address, or your payment details.
To check whether a subscription is active, we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., 1032 E Brandon Blvd #3003, Brandon, FL 33511, USA) as a processor. It processes:
- A randomly generated, anonymous identifier for your app installation
- Purchase details: product, time, status and duration, App Store receipt, App Store country
- Technical details: device type, iOS version, and app version
- For technical reasons, your IP address during transmission
This identifier is not linked to your entries or health data; RevenueCat never receives such data.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). The transfer to the United States is safeguarded by Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). The data is kept for as long as needed to manage the subscription and to meet legal retention obligations.
7. Text generated on your device
The app can write short summaries and insights about your entries. For this it uses the Apple Intelligence language model directly on your iPhone. Your data is not sent to us or to anyone else for this. If the model is not available on your device, these texts are simply not shown.
8. Camera and photos
The camera is used only when you take a profile photo. You choose photos for entries through the iOS photo picker; the app sees only the pictures you select. All pictures are stored on your device.
9. Notifications
Reminders are created locally on your device. There is no notification server, and no device identifier is sent to us for this. You can turn off notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
10. Crash reports from Apple
If you have agreed in iOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides us with crash reports and usage statistics in aggregated form. They contain no content from the app and cannot be traced back to you. You can change this under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
11. Contacting us
If you email us, we process your message and email address to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once the matter is closed, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
12. Storage and deletion
Your entries stay stored until you delete them. You can delete individual entries in the app. Deleting the app removes all data stored in the app from your device.
Data that HappyLipo has saved to Apple Health stays there. You can delete it in the Health app.
13. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).
Because your entries and profile exist only on your device, we cannot view, export, or delete them; only you can. We cannot link the purchase data held by RevenueCat to a person (Art. 11 GDPR). If you would like access to or deletion of that data, email support@2056.digital and we will tell you which details we need to find it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte, Devrientstraße 5, 01067 Dresden, Germany.
14. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the app or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
